§ Mr. R. A. ButlerRegulations under the Civil Defence Act, 1948, place upon local authorities the function of recruiting divisions of the Civil Defence Corps. This is a continuing duty, in performing which the Corps authorities have the guidance and encouragement of my department and the Scottish Home Department. A national Civil Defence Week to aid recruiting was held as recently as last October.
