§ Mr. SandysThe amount of American financial aid which we expect to receive for defence during the course of the present financial year is about £30 million. New support funds made available by the Federal German Government in respect of the period 5th May, 1956, to 31st March, 1957, amounted to some £34 million; in addition to this sum, funds still available from the previous support period have brought the total amount for the financial year as a whole to some £50 million.
