HC Deb 11 February 1957 vol 564 c138W
131. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Health how much of the Supplementary Estimate for the National Health Service is due to an increase in the number of medical and other staff of our hospitals.

Mr. Vosper

None. Provision for staff increases was made in the original Estimate. With insignificant exceptions, the extra expenditure on hospital running costs provided for in the Supplementary Estimate is in respect of increases in pay, prices and rates.
