§ 46. Mr. Brockwayasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will invite representatives of all the Governments whose territories utilise the waters 121W of the Nile to meet in conference with a view to a fair and full use of the waters for mutual development.
§ Mr. Ian HarveyIt is certainly desirable that the interested Governments should co-operated to ensure the best and most equitable use of the Nile waters. Many questions of a technical nature are involved, as well as policy, and Her Majesty's Government would be in favour of holding a conference at the appropriate time. For obvious political reasons it is not practicable to hold one at present.
