HC Deb 11 February 1957 vol 564 cc148-9W
Mr. D. Price

asked the President of the Board of Trade the total value of British exports in the years 1954, 1955 and 1956 which benefited from Imperial Preference; and how this total was divided according to country of destination, and according to category of product, respectively.

Sir D. Eccles

I regret that the statistics for which my hon. Friend asks could not be collated without an unwarrantable expenditure of labour, but in round figures about a quarter of our exports benefit from Imperial Preference, and of this preferential trade about two-thirds goes to Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
