HC Deb 04 February 1957 vol 564 c14W
107. Mr. E. L. Mallalieu

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what grants were made to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the years 1939 to 1945 by the Government of the United Kingdom.

Mr. Ian Harvey

I regret that I cannot give the figures in the form requested. No grants were made to Saudi Arabia by Her Majesty's Government during the financial year 1939–40. During the financial years 1940–41 to 1946–47, inclusive, the net total of financial assistance by Her Majesty's Government to that country was £11,708,945. In addition, Saudi Arabia received military supplies valued at £682,271.
