§ Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Secretary of State for Air whether the land has now been acquired for the building of the Meteorological Office in Bracknell New Town; when it is anticipated that the building will be commenced; and when the staff will be transferred.
Mr. WardFinancial approval has now been given for the acquisition of the site at Bracknell, and I understand that my right hon. Friend the Minister of Works expects its purchase to be completed shortly and that building will start in the autumn of 1958. On this basis, staff will begin to be transferred during 1960, and it is hoped to complete the move in 1961.
