asked the Prime Minister what progress has been made with the plans for a memorial to the late Earl of Balfour.

My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister has appointed a Committee to advise Her Majesty's Government on the statue to the late Earl of Balfour. My right hon. Friend the Member for Kelvingrove has agreed to act as Chairman, and the following have also agreed to serve:

The right hon. Gentleman the Member for Gower (Mr. Grenfell)

The hon. Gentleman the Member for Orkney and Shetland (Mr. Grimond)
