§ 94. Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will announce the date and other details of the direct elections to be held in Uganda.
§ Mr. ProfumoIt is hoped that the necessary arrangements will be completed in time for elections to be held towards the end of 1958. These will be direct elections in such districts as want them, apart from Karamoja. The detailed arrangements are provided for in the Legislative Council (Elections) Ordinance, 1957, a copy of which I have placed in the Library of the House.
