HC Deb 12 December 1957 vol 579 c161W
96. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what reports he has received from British African territories concerning "Voice of Free Africa" broadcasts from Cairo in Swahili or other languages; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Profumo

My right hon. Friend has received reports that a station using this name transmits anti-British broadcasts in Swahili for 40 minutes each day to East Africa. A careful watch is kept on these broadcasts.
