§ 50. Mr. Teelingasked the Postmaster-General whether he will amend Post Office rules in order that receipts may be given for payments made at a post office in respect of cash-on-delivery parcels scheduled for later delivery, in view of the fact that, while in normal circumstances a cash-on-delivery parcel constitutes a receipt for the money paid, in the case of prior payment at the post office the addressee is without the parcel or a receipt for moneys paid, as has recently happened in Brighton.
§ Mr. K. ThompsonYes. I am grateful to my hon. Friend for drawing attention to this point. A new rule authorising the giving of a receipt in these cases is being issued to all offices.
