§ Mr. Walker-SmithThe total nursing staff at all hospitals, other than mental and mental deficiency hospitals in the Newcastle Regional Hospital area at 30th September, 1957, was 6,242 whole-time and 1,327 part-time. The corresponding figures at 30th September, 1956, were 6,263 whole-time and 1,153 part-time.
