asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation how the rephasing of capital investment in the Railways Modernisation Programme will affect the Euston-Glasgow electrification scheme; and when he estimates that the Euston-Rugby section will be completed.

Mr. Nugent

The scheme is unlikely to be affected and the estimate that the Euston-Rugby section will be completed in 1967 is unchanged.
