§ 68. Mr. E. Fletcherasked the Attorney-General when he intends to extend the provisions of the Legal Aid Scheme to proceedings in the magistrates' courts.
The Solicitor-GeneralMy noble Friend the Lord Chancellor has requested the Law Society to revise their plans and estimates for extending the Legal Aid Scheme to civil proceedings in magistrates' courts. When they are received, he will consider how best to employ any further funds which may become available.
