§ Mr. Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will publish in HANSARD a table of figures showing the Income Tax benefits that have been received by Surtax-payers since October, 1951, and the Income Tax benefits received by the wage and salary earner in receipt of£2,000,£3,000,£4,000,£5,000 and£6,000 per annum for the same period.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftThe difference between the amounts actually paid by way of Income Tax and Surtax since October, 1951, by persons liable to Surtax and the18W amounts which they would have been liable so to pay if the 1951–52 rates had remained in force is not known.
