§ 47. Mr. Shepherdasked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the criticisms which have been levelled at the design of the recently introduced £5 bank note and postal orders, he will impress upon Departments the need to maintain a higher standard of design, and, in the case of articles which will have a long life and mass circulation, to submit new designs to the Council of Industrial Design for comment.
§ The Prime MinisterHigh standards are already maintained and I see no need to impose the procedure suggested by my hon. Friend.
