HC Deb 17 April 1957 vol 568 c205W
73. Mr. Hamilton

asked the Postmaster-General to what extent the staff dealing with Premium Bonds at Lytham St. Annes has been reduced in the last three months; what are the reasons for such reductions; and to which other Government Departments these persons have been transferred.

Mr. K. Thompson

The expected decline in work after the early months has for the time being reduced the staff required for the Bonds by 329. Of these, 294 have been retained in Post Office employment but are engaged in other work for the Post Office Savings Department or for the Ministries of Pensions and National Insurance, Power and Health and the Board of Customs and Excise. The remainder have left the service.
