HC Deb 17 April 1957 vol 568 cc203-4W
Mr. Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what representations he has received from the Bar Council of Jamaica for the ending of the practice whereby forty-three serving police officers and many retired police officers have been appointed as justices of the peace; and what action he proposes to take about the matter.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

None. On the second part of the Question, I would refer the hon. Member to the replies given to his Questions of 23rd January and 13th March, to which I have nothing to add at present.
