§ 75. Mr. Knox Cunninghamasked the Postmaster-General what additional ventilation, or other means to reduce the 206W temperature in the ship's laundry of H.M.T.S. "Monarch," will be provided before the vessel sails on her voyage to the tropics.
§ Mr. K. ThompsonWorking conditions in the laundry were substantially improved in 1954 by the installation of modern equipment and by additional ventilation. "Monarch" has since worked in tropical waters and there has been nothing to suggest that conditions in the laundry during the forthcoming work in the Pacific, mainly in sub-tropical waters, will be unreasonable. I will, however. see what can be done by way of further improvement at the refit later this year.
