HL Deb 11 April 1957 vol 202 cc1321-2WA
LORD GLYN

asked Her Majesty's Government what is the policy that has been agreed for the future of Grove Air-field, near Wantage, and what are the terms and conditions under which the Atomic Energy Authority have acquired, and are acquiring, special accommodation for conferences in connection with the application of nuclear energy to industry.

THE MINISTER OF POWER (LORD MILLS)

Apart from a small area which is being retained for storage, the Royal Air Force are disposing of this airfield. The Atomic Energy Authority are purchasing about a fifth of the area (about 125 acres) for the purpose of establishing laboratories for research into the industrial applications of radioactivity. No special accommodation has been, or is being, acquired for conferences.
