HC Deb 10 April 1957 vol 568 c118W
18. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that in some provincial omnibuses licensed for public transport the seats are so close together that it is impossible for a well-built person to sit in comfort; and whether he will in future refuse to license vehicles unless sufficient leg-room is provided between the seats.

Mr. Nugent

The Regulations governing the certification of public service vehicles already provide that there shall be certain minimum distances between seats according to their relative position. If the hon. Member will let me have details of his complaint, I will have them considered in connection with the review of these Regulations which is now taking place.
