§ Mr. GodberInformation on hours of work is collected in England and Wales by the Ministry's wages inspectors as a regular part of the wages and employment inquiry. The latest available figures relate to the twelve months ending 30th September, 1956, and estimates are given below of the average total hours per week142W (including overtime) for various classes of regular workers.
