asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many African students from Kenya have qualified for the Bar since 1945 under grants from his Department or the Kenya Government.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Three Kenya African students who received Government grants towards the cost of their training have been called to the Bar since 1945. Of these, one was awarded a scholarship from colonial development and welfare funds and two were financed from Kenya Government funds.
