HC Deb 02 April 1957 vol 568 cc30-1W
77. Mr. Temple

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in view of the serious financial position of many old-established football clubs, if he will give total remission of tax on those clubs whose attendance figures at any one match fall below 10.000 spectators.

79. Brigadier Clarke

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he is aware that Purchase Tax has been among the causes resulting in the closing of a General Electric Company factory in Portsmouth; and if he will therefore relax the tax on electrical products in order to prevent similar factories from closing down elsewhere.

80. Mr. Awbery

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will take steps to refund post-war credits to persons under 60 and 65 years of age, respectively, who have left this country to live permanently abroad, after they have been away five years.

Mr. P. Thorneycroft

I cannot anticipate my Budget statement.
