§ Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is aware that the use of aircraft for the location of fish shoals if combined with a navigating system for communicating between aircraft and ship can save fuel, time, labour and depreciation in fishing vessels; and if he will make a statement on the trials which are now taking place between his department and the fishing industry for the purpose of reaching decisions on the use of these modern devices.
§ Mr. GodberIt is too early to predict what economic advantages there may be in the use of aircraft to locate fish shoals. My right hon. Friend is not aware of any experimental work in this field apart from that I have referred to in the reply I gave to the hon. and learned Member on 28th March.
