§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftThe number of overseas visitors to the United Kingdom during the six months from April to September this year was about 800,000, compared with 765,000 in 1955, 656,000 in 1954 and 595,000 in 1953. The amount of currency which accrued from expenditure in this country by these visitors is provisionally estimated at £84 million, compared with £79 million in 1955, £69 million in 1954 and £62 million in 1953.
