Mr. Doddsasked the Minister of Defence if he is aware of the increasing concern that the two-year period of National Service has not yet been reduced ; and, in view of the economic advantages this gives to other European countries where shorter periods of service are required of their nationals, what consideration has recently been given to the matter and with what result.
