HC Deb 22 November 1956 vol 560 c99W
47. Mr. Ernest Davies

asked the Prime Minister if he will instruct Government Departments to make use of rail instead of road transport wherever it is economically practicable.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I have been asked to reply.

I am sure that my right hon. Friends are already doing their utmost to see by every means, including rail transport, that the use of motor fuel in their Departments is kept as low as possible. I will see that this answer is brought to the notice of all Departments.
