HC Deb 21 November 1956 vol 560 c88W
85. Mr. Fernyhough

asked the Minister of Health if he will exempt children, old people, the chronic sick, and victims of war injuries and industrial injuries from all charges on prescriptions.

Mr. Turton

No, but any person who, on application to the National Assistance Board, shows that he will suffer financial hardship in accordance with the Board's standards will be able to obtain a refund. Refund is made irrespective of means to any person requiring medicines for the treatment of accepted war disabilities.
