§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeIn the eight years 1948 to 1955 134 persons were prosecuted under Section 56 of the Mental Deficiency Act, 1913, for carnal knowledge of a female defective, and eleven persons were so prosecuted in 1946. I regret that the number of prosecutions in 1947 is not available, but seven persons were convicted in that year.
