§ Lieut. - Colonel Bromley-Davenportasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he is aware of the increasingly large traffic in live cattle from the United Kingdom to the continent ; and whether, with a view to reducing the hardship involved, he will seek powers to enable him to have such animals slaughtered here and the carcases sent abroad.
Mr. AmoryThe transit of cattle to the continent is governed by regulations designed to prevent unnecessary suffering 181W and I do not think that I would be justified in seeking the additional powers suggested by my hon. and gallant Friend.
