§ Mr. Hydeasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many death sentences have been imposed, and how many have been carried out, as the result of new trials in criminal cases ordered by the East African Court of Appeal in appeals from Kenya.

Since 1st January, 1951, nine death sentences have ben imposed, and seven of these have ben carried out, as a result of new trials ordered by the East African Court of Appeal.
