§ Mr. NugentMy Department's Accounts for the financial year 1955–56 will not be available for some time, but revised estimates of the subsidies were made for the purpose of the Supplementary Estimate dated 6th February, 1956. For details of the estimated cost of agricultural grants and subsidies totalling £213.6 million I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Bromsgrove (Mr. Dance) on 9th February. The comparable figures for food subsidies are welfare milk £30.8 million, welfare foods £5.0 million and bread £38.5 million.
