§ Mr. SoamesTransport Command carried just under 10 per cent. of the passengers. Of the contracts awarded to civil operators, 7 per cent. in terms of value, went to B.O.A.C.; a negligible proportion to B.E.A.; 74 per cent. to independent companies on long-term contracts; and 19 per cent. to independent companies onad hoc charter.
