§ Miss PittAbout 14¼ per cent. of the population are now over 65 (60 in the case of women). About 9¼ per cent. are drawing National Insurance retirement pensions and a very small percentage non-contributory old-age pensions. I have no statistics as to those in receipt of other pensions. It is estimated that in 1960, 1965, 1970 and 1975 the percentage of the population over these ages will be 14½, 15½, 16¾ and 17¾, respectively.
