asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many political prisoners are now detained in Cyprus, Malaya and Kenya.

On 28th March my right hon. Friend replied to a Question by the hon. Member for Bristol, South-East (Mr. Benn), about the number of persons detained without trial in these and other territories. I cannot say how many of these the hon. Member would describe as political prisoners.
