HC Deb 02 May 1956 vol 552 c41W
72. Mr. Peyton

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will review the working of the war-time dilution agreement at the Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton.

Mr. Wingfield Digby

The maximum merit pay for dilutees at Yeovilton and elsewhere was increased from 9s. a week to 12s. a week in June, 1955, and has now been further increased to 15s. a week. Although other improvements in dilution agreements with some trade unions have been agreed, it has not yet been possible to arrange for any further improvements to be made in the dilution agreement under which five men at Yeovilton and many others elsewhere are serving. The conditions of service of dilutees are, however, frequently discussed with the trade unions with whom the respective agreements were made.
