§ Mr. H. MacmillanThe practice of the Royal Mint is to supply coins in the quantities and denominations asked for by the banks. I am aware that from time to time, especially in cold spells, local shortages of shillings occur. Applications from the banks for coins are met by the Royal Mint as quickly as possible.
