HC Deb 12 March 1956 vol 550 c7W
62. Mr. Palmer

asked the Minister of Fuel and Power what official arrangements are being made to enable the visiting party of Soviet engineering experts, headed by Mr. Malenkov, Soviet Minister of Power Station Construction, to study the latest developments in British electrical power technology.

Mr. Aubrey Jones

I shall be meeting members of this delegation myself, but the actual arrangements for the visit are in the hands of the Central Electricity Authority, the Scottish Electricity Boards and the Atomic Energy Authority. I understand that the Soviet enginering experts will be able to see a number of the more modern generating stations and the works of some of the principal manufacturers of plant, and they will also visit Harwell and Calder Hall.
