§ Mr. Nairnasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what negotiations are taking place between the Scottish Education Department and local authorities with the object of obtaining agreement to the introduction of a teachers' widows', orphans' and dependants' pension scheme at an early date.
§ Mr. J. StuartNo negotiations are in progress, but, as my hon. Friend the Joint Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State said in the Scottish Standing Committee on 21st February, we are ready at any time to meet the Educational Institute of Scotland and the local authorities to work out the details of the scheme outlined in the Teachers (Superannuation) Bill.
