§ Major Lloyd-GeorgeUp to 31st December last, the latest date for which figures are available, 244 persons were prosecuted in the Metropolitan Police66W District for offences under the Prevention of Crime Act, 1953. Of these, 203 were summarily convicted and in 15 cases the charges were withdrawn or dismissed or otherwise disposed of. The remaining 26 persons were committed for trial.
