§ 44. Mr. Sorensenasked the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement in respect of trade between Hong Kong and this country, particularly in regard to its specific beneficial and detrimental effect on British exports.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftIn 1955 our exports to Hong Kong, at nearly £26 million were more than half as much again as our imports, at £16½ million. Hong Kong applies virtually no restrictions to her trade with us and only a few customs duties, and we enjoy a tariff preference on both liquor and tobacco.
