§ Commander Agnewasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will furnish a statement to show, in each Department of State, the amount by which the salary of the Permanent Secretary or equivalent grade will exceed that of the Minister in charge of the Department, after adjustments have been made on or about 1st July, 1956.
§ Mr. H. MacmillanThe salary for senior Ministers in charge of Departments is £5,000. The new salary for Permanent Secretaries is £6,000 (£7,000 for the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury).
