§ Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether Federal legislation in Lagos regarding complete freedom of assembly for trade unions, which was recommended to the three Regional Governments, has yet been adopted.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe Federal legislation has not yet been adopted by the Regions. But I understand that in fact there is no restriction in any of the Regions on the meetings of members of trade unions, which are regarded as private meetings. Licences are required only for public meetings or processions.
