§ Mr. Mahonasked the Minister of Health if he is aware of the delays in accommodating patients awaiting beds in Newsham General Hospital, Liverpool, and of the complaints of medical practitioners in this regard; if he will review the average waiting time for beds in this hospital; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. TurtonI am not aware of any undue delay in admission, and I know of only one complaint by a general practitioner, about which I have written to the hon. Member. Patients are admitted according to urgency, and the average waiting time is therefore no criterion.
