Mr. AmoryThe White Paper on this year's Annual Review stated that the Government would consider the possibility of providing more effective long-term assurances of support for agriculture than are afforded under present arrangements. Discussions on this have now started between representatives of the Government and the three farmers' unions. Associated with these discussions will be the examination of the whole basis and procedures for special reviews of which the Government gave notice when agreeing to a special review last February.
