§ Commander Donaldsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware that the Court of Session, by a majority, recently decided that a wife who is deserted by her husband is not protected under the Rent Restriction Acts; and, in view of the fact that there are thousands of Scottish wives in a similar position, if he will introduce legislation forthwith to protect them in this regard.
§ Mr. J. StuartI have seen a newspaper report of the case. As there is still the possibility of an appeal to the House of Lords, it would be premature to consider the question of amending legislation.
