Mr. Collins

asked the Minister of Health to publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT detailed figures of the economy cut of £573,000 in the National Health Service under the heading of Civil Defence.

The detailed reductions are as follows:—

Acquisition and initial repair of former hutted hospitals and camps for which there is no peace-time use 20,000
National Hospital Service Reserve (slowing down production and issue of uniforms) 140,000
Purchase of training equipment for the ambulance service 20,000
Grants to local authorities 10,000
Purchase and storage of materials for reserve 378,000
Total £573,000
