§ 33. Mr. N. Pannellasked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he took before agreeing to the present import quotas, to satisfy himself that neither the United States of America nor Israel subsidises the export of citrus fruits, either directly or indirectly.
§ Mr. P. ThorneycroftCitrus fruits are at present imported from the United States under Mutual Aid arrangements from which imports of subsidised fruits 121W are specifically excluded. Imports of citrus fruits from Israel are admitted without restriction under open general licence. I am satisfied from inquiries made that they are not subsidised directly or indirectly.
