HC Deb 04 July 1956 vol 555 c105W
6. Mr. Awbery

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty in view of the threat of redundancy to workers at the ship repairing and shipbuilding yards of Messrs. Hill, Bristol, because of the suspension of work on H.M.S. "Recruit" which has been undergoing refit, if he will offer other work to this yard.

Mr. Digby

The number of ships which can be refitted this year is limited, and I regret that we are unlikely to be able to place another ship with Messrs. Hill in the near future.
